This pendant depicts the progression of the eight Pagan Sabbats through the year laid out as a traditional wooden wheel.  The name of each Sabbat is carved over a singe wedge or segment of the wheel.  The signs of the Zodiac appear around the wheel corresponding to each holiday and time of year.  Measuring approximately 1" in diameter, the Wheel of the Year pendant is made of .925 Sterling Silver.  The pendant is is single-sided.
Symbolism:
The Wheel of the year constantly turns with the waxing and waning of the seasons.  The Sabbats of the Old Path are based upon the cycles of the earth which have no beginning and never end.
The four Quarters: Yule, Ostara, Midsummer & Mabon (Winter Solstice, Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice & Fall Equinox respectively) mark the movements of the earth in respect to the Sun.  The Cross Quarters: Samhain, Imolg, Beltane & Lughnasadh deal with our changing relationship to the earth as the year progresses.
These holidays (literally holy days) are celebrated with the knowledge that each part of the cycle relies upon the others in order to keep the wheel turning and for life to prosper.
Silver:
One of the 7 magical metals of the Ancients, silver is the
metal of the moon.  Like the moon, silver is linked to the element of water and the Divine Feminine.  With its reflective surface, silver acts as a mirror; and the metal is is associated with psychic powers and clairvoyance.  Silver is a protective metal and is often used to make protective amulets.
Dryad Design:
