Shungite is a Precambrian carbonaceous rock of organic origin which has been found only in Russia, Karelia, Lake Onega area. It is found in sediments derived from meteor impacts called Shungites. Shungite is mostly Carbon, but also contains many other elements like sulfer, oxygen and nitrogen, and also different metals such as vanadium, nickel, molybdenum, copper, tungsten among others.
