    Description

RARE MENUS FROM RENOWN WORLD RESTAURANTS INCLUDING 2 AUTOG. ALFREDO & JOE’S CRAB
This is an auction for very rare and unusual items. These are vintage menus from two of the most famous and popular restaurants in the world. I have tried very hard to illustrate the history and composition of these items. You are bidding on the following:
    1) An assortment of menus and documents related to a dinner party at Alfredo Ristorante “ALFREDO” held in Rome, Italy in1976. That restaurant has been operating since 1914 and is known as the birthplace of fettuccine Alfredo. There is a beige colored folder with the restaurant’s famous emblem and location information. That folder is blank on the inside and was used to “present” the menus and wine list to the patrons.
As shown in the photos, there are two menus autographed by the famous chef. There is also a copy of one of the wine lists. I have done my best to show you in the photographs all of these documents that are included in this auction. In one of the photos, I show the beige folder with the two autographed menus and a wine list enclosed.
I have also included a photograph taken of the Chef posing at the table with the dinner guests who he signed the menus for. Another photograph shows a stamp on the back of the photograph which establishes that the photo was taken at the place and time that the dinner was held when the autographs were obtained.
    2) An original menu from Joe’s Stone Crab restaurant in Miami Beach, Florida. This menu was also obtained in the early to mid 1970’s. As stated on the front of Joe’s menu, it was the first eating house on Miami Beach and was established in 1913. It boasts that it received the Holiday magazine award every year since 1961. It is particularly interesting to note the prices in this old menu as compared to prices for the same items you are expected to pay today!
