2 COBALT BLUE GLASS EVIL EYE PROTECTION HANGING AMULET GOOD LUCK TALISMAN NAZAR
Lot of 2 vintage “Evil Eye” glass talismans. Both are hand made artisan pieces from Turkey.
The Nazar (Amulet) or evil eye stone, is an amulet of stone or glass which is believed to protect against evil eye, widely used in Turkey and Afghanistan, India and Pakistan.
Nicely made thick quality glass.
These are beautiful cobalt blue glass amulets which have a deep blue translucence to them. It also has an opaque white, light blue and black glass center to form the “eye”.
No cracks, no hairlines, breaks or repairs.
Because these are hand drilled there is chipping around the back side of the amulet where the hole is. It is part of the hand made process to drill the hole and some of the edge around the hole flakes/chips out during the process. This is a natural process and is considered part of the art form and not a defect. It doesn’t detract from the piece or its ability to hang.
They come with original hanging strings but can easily be replaced if you are crafty with a more sturdy/ornate string, chain or ribbon.
May need light cleaning due to age, preowned display and storage. From a smoke free home.
These are unique hand made pieces so bubbles within the glass, unusual swirled/rippled textures and uneven surfaces are part of the artisan quality and not considered defects.
