In collaboration with Nespresso, Caran d’Ache presents a new 849 limited edition ballpoint pen made with aluminum from recycled Nespresso coffee pod capsules. This eco-conscious writing instrument represents the common values of the two iconic Swiss companies, namely: sustainable development, innovation, and Swiss design quality.
Following the success of the 1st and 2nd editions (Dharkhan Blue and India Green, respectively), Caran d'Ache and Nespresso renew their partnership with the satin-smooth, deep purple "Arpeggio" capsule for the year 2020.
The iconic hexagonal profile of this lightweight yet durable aluminum body has a bright purple appearance thanks to a process of micro beading blasting and electrostatic treatment. As with the other Nespresso limited editions, the Arpeggio is engraved with the phrase, 'Made with recycled Nespresso Capsules" on the back of the pen body. The writing experience is exceptionally smooth thanks to the Goliath 849 ballpoint cartridge. The pen is packaged in an environmentally-friendly box made from 100% recycled and recyclable cardboard.
In 2015, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Nespresso’s commitment to recycle its aluminum coffee pod capsules, the company launched its Second Life project to breathe new life into its used pod capsules through a range of iconic Swiss products. Having already released a Victorinox Swiss Army knife and a Zena vegetable peeler, Nespresso partnered with Caran d’Ache to create a special 849, using recycled capsules’ aluminum for the body of the pen. Caran d’Ache Research & Development laboratory went through numerous tests to create an exclusive alloy using the aluminum from recycled coffee pod capsules, meeting the quality requirements of the 849.

To qualify for a refund, the item must be in the exact same, brand-new condition it was received, including the original packaging, plus any accessories, parts, and paperwork that came with the item. We cannot accept opened and used bottles of ink, ink cartridges, used notebooks, engraved pens or pen cleaning supplies. When you receive any new fountain pen, we recommend to inspect it thoroughly and if necessary, lightly dip the nib tip in washable ink to test it. Any pens that have been fully inked and used will incur a 15% restocking fee for preferential returns. Approval of all returns is subject to the discretion of Goldspot Pens, who reserves the right to decline refund requests if the product has been improperly used, damaged, modified or is otherwise unable to be resold.
